  5. This release is Year 2000 ready -
  6.  
  7. Double Image for Windows is a copy program designed to
  8. backup optical disks.  Double Image for Windows uses a
  9. special method for copying files  This can save disk space
  10. and time. Double Image for Windows is easy to use.
  11.  
  12. This release of Double Image for Windows requires Microsoft
  13. Windows 3.1 or Newer, running in 386 Enhanced Mode.  The
  14. computer should have enough memory to allow programs to run
  15. without slowing down.
  16.  
  17. When copying with only one drive, Double Image for Windows
  18. will make at least two passes with each source and
  19. destination disk.  Therefore, if you are using a removable
  20. floppy drive for both the source and destination drive, then
  21. you are required to insert and remove the source and
  22. destination floppy two times.  The first pass reads in file
  23. names, dates, and other attributes, and the second pass
  24. copies the actual data.  This is much faster than reading
  25. and writing all data on each pass like most other copy
  26. programs, especially if you are just freshening files from
  27. one disk to another.

  29. Installing Double Image for Windows:

  31.      To install Double Image for Windows place the
  32.      Installation disk in your floppy drive.  From Program
  33.      Manager, choose FILE, then RUN.  Type the letter of the
  34.      floppy drive, a colon, and `SETUP':

  38.      Follow the directions given by the setup program.

  40. How to use Double Image for Windows:

  42.      To start Double Image for Windows enter a source and
  43.      destination directory in the dialog box. Choose other
  44.      options, such as copy subdirectories, and file dates.
  45.      
  46.      Please refer to HELP for more specific information.  It
  47.      is a good idea to use the LOG facility of Double Image
  48.      for Windows.  You can tell Double Image for Windows to
  49.      use an editor or list program of your choice.  By
  50.      default NOTEPAD (comes with Windows 3.1) will be used,
  51.      but it does not hold very much log information.

  54. New Information not covered in the manual:

  56.      When using Windows with Adaptec ASPI4DOS.EXE, some
  57.      users experience problems with their SCSI card when the
  58.      SYSTEM.INI file, TimerCriticalSection variable is
  59.      something other than 0.  If you are having intermittent
  60.      problems with SCSI drives or devices, setting
  61.      TimerCriticalSection=0 may help.  Please contact
  62.      Adaptec concerning these difficulties, they may have an
  63.      updated driver or be able to offer technical support
  64.      with SCSI cards.

  94.           Image would not work.  This bug was in the DOS

  98.           Fixed bug where Double Image, on WORM drives,
  99.           would 1) Write a file, 2) Set Date/Time of file,
  100.           3) Set attributes.  Step 2) and 3) caused a lot of
  101.           disk space to be used up for directory entries.
  102.           Now Double Image combines step 1 and 2, and gives
  103.           the user the choice of setting attributes or
  104.           copying files with hidden and system attributes
  105.           set(step 3).

  109.           /Ar  Copy read-only bit

  112.           /Fh  Copy hidden files
  113.           /Fs  Copy system files

  115.           The main screen has been updated to reflect more
  116.           attribute options.
