  8. Purpose of the FidoNet WILDCAT! Sysops Support Conference (Echo)

  15.  The WILDCAT! Sysops Support Conference is a gathering place for
  16.  all WILDCAT! Sysops whether they run Fido/Echomail or not.
  17.  
  18.  This is a forum to ask questions and seek answers to
  19.  operational support problems.  This covers both WILDCAT! and
  20.  directly related 3rd party products.
  21.  
  22.  At this time, the Conference may be made available to all
  23.  callers, whether they are sysops or not.  The Moderator retains
  24.  the right to close the Conference to Sysops only at any time.
  25.  Sysops should try to monitor messages published here by their
  26.  callers for topic appropriateness whenever possible.

  28. Rules for the WILDCAT! Sysops Support Conference

  31. 1.  No BBS advertisements are welcome in the Conference.
  32.     A simple "Hello, I'm new here" will do.  BBS phone numbers
  33.     and *any* other extraneous information in messages or
  34.     signatures (other than origin lines) constitutes advertising
  35.     and is not permitted.
  36.  
  37. 2.  Product advertisements *are* welcome under the following
  38.     conditions only:
  39.  
  40.     a.  Keep advertisement to *ONE PAGE or LESS* (one page means
  41.         30 - 40 lines) INCLUDING tearlines and useless data such
  42.         as offline reader signature lines, etc.
  43.  
  44.     b.  Advertisements should be written to convey *quiet
  45.         professionalism* of both advertiser and audience.
  46.  
  47.     c.  Product advertised must be DIRECTLY usable by, with, or
  48.         for WILDCAT! BBS software, but not exclusively so.
  49.  
  50.     d.  Price of product may be included in advertisement.
  51.  
  52.     e.  Either a FidoNet node number, phone number, or mail
  53.         address (U.S. Mail or whatever is appropriate for your country)
  54.         should be provided for contact.
  55.  
  56.     f.  The Moderator will have the final decision as to what
  57.         products and/or services are appropriate to advertise.
  58.  
  59. 3.  *NO FLAMING WILL BE TOLERATED* on *any* person, vendor,
  60.     product, or service participating in this conference.
  61.  
  62. 4.  Please keep all messages ON-TOPIC.  Any post that does not
  63.     deal with an actual operational problem/question or an answer
  64.     to such, is considered off topic.
  65.  
  66.     If you don't know what's allowed, *ASK* first or re-read this
  67.     Rules file.
  68.  
  69.     The Moderator has the final decision as to what is on or off
  70.     topic.

  72. 5.  Excessive quoting is not permitted.  When responding to a
  73.     message, please QUOTE *ONLY* THE TEXT YOU WISH TO RESPOND TO,
  74.     NOTHING MORE. Please *do not* include personal
  75.     hello/goodbye/"In a message to" lines, offline mail reader
  76.     signature/tag lines, mail processor signature/origin lines,
  77.     etc. in the quoted response.  Please keep all messages
  78.     reasonably short and to the point.  Be considerate of others.

  80. 6.  Handles are *not* allowed in the Conference.  Real names
  81.     only, please.
  82.  
  83. 7.  ASCII, ANSI and WILDCAT! specific graphics and graphics codes
  84.     are not permitted in messages.  Not everyone reading the
  85.     conference can translate them.
  86.  
  87. 8.  This Conference is *not* an official support medium for *any*
  88.     Mustang Software, Inc. product including WILDCAT!.  For
  89.     support, contact Mustang Software, Inc. directly.
  90.  
  91. 9.  The WILDCAT! Echo may *not* be gated outside of FidoNet by
  92.     anyone to or from any QWK or Fido Technology network without
  93.     the express permission of the Moderator.

  95. 10. Repeated offenses of the rules by any participant may result
  96.     in that node's link to this Conference being cut.
  97.  
  98. 11. The conference is *not* to be used as a medium to report bugs
  99.     of beta software to the authors.  Contact the author directly
  100.     to report the bug/problems.  If a question comes up about
  101.     the operational side of beta software, then feel free to ask
  102.     a question about the software in the conference.
