  10. This is the Fidonet Quantum Leap echo, tag name QUANTUMLEAP. By receiving and
  11. participating in this echo, you agree to be bound by the rules of this echo
  12. and the decisions of the moderators, who are....

  20. The 12 Rules of Quantum Leaping
  21. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  22.  1. Be polite *>ALWAYS<*! Remember, the people on this echo judge you on what
  23.     you say, and how you say it. Don't use offensive language.
  24.  
  25.  2. All discussion in this echo must relate to the program "Quantum Leap", the
  26.     regular cast and crew of the program, or the plots and stories within. All
  27.     discussion which varies from this limitation is OFF-TOPIC and subject to
  28.     MODERATOR ACTION.
  29.  
  30.  3. If you have any Quantum Leap news, please cite your source.
  31.  
  32.  4. There are no flames of any type including characters on the series, or
  33.     other members of this echo, commercial advertisement, private, or personal
  34.     messages. Participants are advised to ignore these and other off-topic
  35.     messages.
  36.  
  37.     FYI: A Flame is an unsubstantiated or unwarranted slur against a person or
  38.     character, based solely on personal preference or prejudice. A criticism
  39.     is not a flame, as long as the reason given are both objective and clearly
  40.     defined in the body of the same message, and relate directly to the point
  41.     or subject of the message.

  43.  5. While they are not encouraged, the use of "handles" are okay as the
  44.     person's real name appears in the From: field, the poster signs with
  45.     his real name, or the poster has the prior approval of the moderator.
  46.  
  47.  6. This conference may be gated to any other amateur mail network, provided
  48.     that:
  49.  
  50.        a) The Moderator is notified of the name of the network and gating
  51.           system,
  52.  
  53.        b) All messages posted here contain a valid origin line and sufficient 
  54.           information to allow a reply via Netmail through "normal" channels.
  55.  
  56.  7. Please leave the moderating to the Moderators. The moderator is an
  57.     appointed, not elected position, with the method of appointment at the
  58.     discretion of the Moderator.
  59.  
  60.  8. Any user caught breaking these rules may be given a gentle reminder, and
  61.     may be posted or netmailed (at the discretion of the Moderator and
  62.     Co-moderator). Violations can result in a first warning, with all
  63. messages 
  64.     stored for later reference, a second warning, with the warning message 
  65.     going to both the user and the sysop, and, if necessary, possible 
  66.     suspension of access and/or ban from this echo. There need not be a first 
  67.     or second warning. The sysops are responsible for any messages posted
  68. from 
  69.     their BBS's or points attached to the BBS's.
  70.  
  71.     A Co-Moderator may suspend a user from accessing the conference for no
  72.     more than 10 days per violation, however, the right to longer suspensions
  73.     or banishments from the conference are the sole domain of the Moderator. 
  74.     Only the Moderator has the right to reinstate, modify, or lessen any 
  75.     action against a user.
  76.  
  77.     Only the Moderator has the authority to interpret and define the rules of 
  78.     this conference. Co-Moderators have the right of interpreting the rules, 
  79.     subject to the Moderator's review.  Appeals of Co-Moderator decisions can 
  80.     be made once per issue to the Moderator (NETMAIL ONLY). NO appeals can be 
  81.     made of the Moderator's decisions.
  82.  
  83.     Discussions of the rules and Moderator/Co-Moderator's decisions are
  84.     "OFF-TOPIC" in the echo.  Netmail ONLY!
  85.  
  86.  9. Keep ANSI and 8-bit ASCII to a minimum.  Please restrict it to taglines
  87.     signatures.
  88.  
  89. 10. No PGP-SIGNED messages.  Despite the fact that PGP-signing isn't really
  90.     "encrypting" messages, enclosing the PGP signature within every message
  91.     you write -- on top of the other control, tear, origin, reader ID, and
  92.     taglines -- simply increases the size of your message for no good reason.
  93.  
  94. 11. If these rules sound strict, just remember, we're an easy going bunch, and
  95.     the important part is TO HAVE FUN.
