  5. 1. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
  6.  
  7. 2. No language unacceptable to prime-time television may be used.
  8.  
  9. 3. The topic of conversation is the D'Bridge EMAIL System and all software
  10.    programs related directly and indirectly to/by Novice users. This includes
  11.    both technical talk, setup, general computer problems that may affect DB,
  12.    complaints, bug reports and suggestions. Off-topic messages are not
  13.    allowed.

  15. 4. No personal flaming or flaming of the Moderator or the Author is allowed.

  21. 5. ONLY the moderator is to respond to off-topic messages or over used
  22.    message threads.

  24. 6. DB_NOVICE is open for everyone. You do NOT have to be a DB user to carry
  25.    or post in this echo, as long as your messages are on topic.
  26.  
  27. 7. If you send a netmail question to me, please poll my system in about 24
  28.    to 30 hours later and pick up your answer. I don't reply direct by netmail
  29.    very often; however, I do post the reply and place it on hold for you to
  30.    poll for later. If you wish your question to be answered in either DBRIDGE
  31.    or, DB_NOVICE, please let me know and I will post the reply in that echo.

  33. 8. Please remember that DBRIDGE and DB_NOVICE are International echo areas.
  34.    Test messages are NOT permitted! If you see a test message in DBRIDGE or
  35.    DB_NOVICE do NOT answer it (except in netmail)

  37. 9. We do allow users to advertise "keys for sale"; however, only under the
  38.    following conditions: you must post the key/kee number and the date/
  39.    time stamp on the key file. You MUST provide prospective buyers the
  40.    above information in order for them to verify that you are the current
  41.    registered owner in our database and will transfer all ownership rights
  42.    and you must inform them that the "lifetime" free update service is not
  43.    included with the sale of the key. This free update policy is vested in
  44.    YOU and may not be transfered or sold to anyone. You must also provide
  45.    a method to contact you direct... either a valid FidoNet node number, or
  46.    if you are a point, a valid voice line number. [effective fee 8/01/94]
  47.    30 Day trial keys are available to the novice user to allow them to try
  48.    DB on their system, before commiting to purchase the program.

  50. 10. The Moderator is the SOLE authority and his/her decissions are final and
  51.     non-appealable. The Moderator will not tolerate ANY flaming of the
  52.     author; although the product is fair game ONCE - If you continue to harp
  53.     on the same problem for over 7 days, you will be asked to take it to
  54.     netmail or suspend yourself from posting in this echo for 30 days.
  55.     Futher continuances will be treated at the Moderator's pleasure.

  57. 11. This is a hobby and D'Bridge is supposed to be part of the fun of the
  58.     telecommunication hobby. Please do not answer off topic messages or
  59.     flames, that makes you more guilty than the originator, since anyone can
  60.     ask a question that is new to them... We don't mind novice's asking
  61.     almost any question; however, we do fault knowledgeable, computer
  62.     literate folks jumping in to tell the novice what a dumb thing that was.
  63.     The Moderater will answer any such questions either in netmail or in the
  64.     echo.

  66. 12. Ownership of a valid D'Bridge license key allows the keyholder to apply
  67.     for acceptance in DB_TECH, our private, non-backbone echo, but does not
  68.     guarantee the users' acceptance.

  70. 13. A list of worldwide sales/service sites is published every Thursday
  71.     evening to coinside with the weekly nodediff. DBNET is ZIPPED so the
  72.     first DBNET this year was DBNET.Z03 (DBNET.003) - we endevor to keep
  73.     the phone numbers accurate as well as any special service. You may
  74.     FileRequest [the MagicFileName] DBNET from 1:3601/14.0.

  76. 14. Any use of ANONYMOUS MAILERS, REMAILERS and/or other software that sends
  77.     messages anonymously is prohibited. Any message received in this
  78.     conference from such a mailer will result in the beginning system in
  79.     the path line having their feed cut. Messages posted in this echo MUST
  80.     contain a PATH line (^PATH).

  82. 15. The Moderator shall serve at the moderators' pleasure.
  83.  
  84. 16. No one is allowed to Gate or "NetWork-List" this echo without The WRITTEN
  85.     permission of the Moderator.
  86.  
  87. 17. From time to time new POLICY will be published in DBNET as well as
  88.     posted in the echo(s).
  89.  
  90. Simple rules are easy to live by. Please help us keep the DB_NOVICE Echo
  91. on the FidoNet Backbone! These Rules are Elist'ed as: DB_NOVIC.RUL.
