This aircraft is depicted as a Straits Air Freight Express B170 which carried freight between Wellington and Blenheim in New Zealand bridging the North and South Islands of the country. SAFE Air flew at its peak up to 17 Bristols, extending its services to the isolated Chattam Islands off NZ's East Coast. By installing a special sound proofed module the aircraft were able to carry passengers. The Bristols entered service in 1951 and the final 4 were retired in 1987.

  13. THE MODEL
  14. The aircraft looks and flies well.  There are a couple of minor `bleed through'
  15. problems in the undercarriage from certain angles that I haven't been able 
  16. to get around - but they don't detract much from the model.
  17.  
  18. I suggest a take-off speed of about 85kts and an approach speed of about
  19. 90kts.  On final approach reduce speed so that you land at about 70kts.
  20. The aircraft will `three-point' beautifully if you time it right.

  22. The aircraft is VERY docile to fly and because of its stability in the air
  23. will provide you with an ideal instrument platform.

  25. NOTE
  26. A lot of work has gone into this aircraft and while you are welcome
  27. to change anything you want to via the AFX file, I would ask that 
  28. appropriate credit always be given to the Designer in the main file.
  29. It must remain freeware to all.

  33. file into the Sim or Pilots Directory.  You'll need BAO's FSFS to run
