  3. OVERVIEW
  4. Catalog your removable disks (CD-ROM, Zip, Jaz, LS-120, etc.)
  5. with this easy-to-use disk cataloging utility. Both indexing
  6. and searching is extremely fast. Typically, SuperCat will
  7. index 10.000 CD-ROM files in less than a minute, on a Pentium
  8. 133MHz PC with 8X CD-ROM.

  10. Finding your files is even faster. Imagine this:
  11. 250 indexfiles, each one containing 4010 files.
  12. A combined total of 1,002,500 files (roughly equivalent
  13. to the entire contents of 645 Windows 95 CD-ROM's). The
  14. total filesize of all indexfiles is almost 66 megabytes
  15. (not that we'd expect anyone to index that many files!).

  17. On a Pentium 133MHz with 32 MB RAM, SuperCat 2.0 will
  18. search through all those indexfiles in less than 37
  19. seconds, an average of more than 27.000 files per second!
  20.  
  21. For most users, cataloging only a "few" thousand files,
  22. searches are completed in a few seconds or less.

  25. available Windows resources and other factors.)

  27. New features in SuperCat 2.0 include file comments, 
  28. search filter and a report editor. Now you can easily
  29. copy, save or print your search results. Please read

  33. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  34. SuperCat has been tested to work on a wide variety
  35. of hardware and software configurations. If you can
  36. run Windows 95, 98 or NT 4.0, you can run SuperCat.

  38. SuperCat will index FAT, FAT32 and NTFS filesystems,
  39. in addition to network, removable and compact disks.
  40.  
  41. The report editor uses the standard Windows Courier New
  42. fixed-width truetype font. If you don't have this font
  43. installed on your system, we recommend that you install it.
  44. Refer your Windows documentation for further instructions
  45. on how to install fonts.

  48. INSTALLATION
  49. Run setup.exe and follow instructions.
  50. You can safely install SuperCat 2.0a on top of 
  51. any previous version.

  53. Your existing indexfiles will continue to work
  54. using SuperCat 2.0a, the only exception being files
  55. where you have added comments using ver. 2.0.
  56.  
  57. In such cases, files with comments will not display filedates
  58. correctly. The solution is to reindex the disk or folder.
