  17. 1) What is Nostradamus?
  18. -----------------------
  19. Nostradamus is not your average reminder or dayplanner. It combines 
  20. the best aspects of both. It's more than just a simple reminder, but
  21. it's not as complex and elaborate as a full-blown dayplanner. Nor does
  22. it need to be. Nostradamus is designed to be as intuitive, inobtrusive
  23. and simple as possible.

  25. Just enter your birthdays, appointments, holidays or reoccurring 
  26. events and Nostradamus will remind you. 30 days in advance if 
  27. necessary. Or the minute it's happening, by means of the built in 
  28. alarm. Never forget another birthday or appointment again!

  30. Nostradamus is not limited to one-line messages. You can enter a new 
  31. message for every event (like a reminder), or enter just one message 
  32. for each day (like the page of a dayplanner). Or use a combination of 
  33. both! Use it any way you like. Nostradamus is versatile and fully 
  34. configurable.

  36. With Nostradamus, you don't have to be a psychic to read the future!

  39. 2) Beta version
  40. ---------------

  42. This is a beta version of Nostradamus. Although the program has been 
  43. extensively tested a few bugs may still remain, especially where 
  44. foreign date and time formats are concerned. Also, operating systems 
  45. other than Windows 95 may cause problems as Nostradamus has only been 
  46. tested on systems running Windows 95 until now.

  54. 3) How to install
  55. -----------------

  57. Unzip the files in this archive to a temporary folder (directory), 
  58. run SETUP.EXE from Windows and just follow the instructions. After 
  59. installation you can delete the files in the temporary folder.

  62. 4) Shareware
  63. ------------

  65. Nostradamus is not free software. You are hereby licensed to use
  66. this software for evaluation purposes without charge for a period
  67. of 30 days. If you use this software after the 30 day evaluation 
  68. period a registration fee of $10 is required. For more information 
  69. see the section "How to register". After the 30 day evaluation period 
  70. Nostradamus will continue to function, there is no expiration date. 
  71. Unregistered use of Nostradamus after the 30-day evaluation period IS
  72. in violation of international and U.S. copyright laws, however!
  73. Please support the shareware concept and register.

  76. 5) How to register
  77. ------------------

  79. Registering is easy and inexpensive. Mail the registration fee (paper 
  80. bills only) in a closed envelope to the address below. It's not an 
  81. elegant way to pay but it is, at this time, not possible to pay using 
  82. a credit card or international check because the costs involved in 
  83. cashing an international payment are higher than the registration fee 
  84. itself. Make sure to include your name, address and e-mail address. 
  85. After registering you will receive your personal registration code. 
  86. The code will, of course, also be valid for future versions of 
  87. Nostradamus. Registering Nostradamus will remove the "thank you for 
  88. trying Nostradamus" message and put your name in Nostradamus' title 
  89. bar.

  91. Registration fee for a single user:

  93. North America:         US$ 10,- or CAN$ 15,-. 
  94. Within Europe:         DM 20,- (Germany), DFl 20,- (NL) or 10 Euro. 
  95. Other currencies:     your own currency for a value of (at least) 
  96.             US$10 (banknote-exchange rate buy, no coins 
  97.             please) provided that your currency may be 
  98.             exported and exchanged.

  100. These prices are valid through december 1998.

  102. Registering within the Netherlands: vraag, indien gewenst, naar de 
  103.             mogelijkheden om te betalen via bank of giro.

  106. Send the registration fee, your name, address and e-mail address to the 
  107. address below. The most convenient way to register is to use a printout
  108. of the Write-file "Register.wri", included in the Nostradamus package.

  127. of this program to or via Internet sites, Bulletin Boards, Shareware 
  128. Archives, CD-ROM's, etc. as long as no changes are made to the software 
  129. or the zipfile it is in. Shareware disk vendors may freely distribute 
  130. this program. There is no charge for any of the above.
