  3. Welcome to The Walnut Creek CDROM Visions IV CDROM!
  4.  
  5. This CDROM contains 75 stock photographs and images in 4 different
  6. image formats.  The images can be used without royalties, but may not
  7. be used on another image CDROM without adding value to the image
  8. such as using them in a multi-media presentation.
  9.  
  10. The images are in the following image formats and sizes:

  12.     BMP    1024x768     8 bit color    RGB
  13.     PICT    640x480    24 bit color    RGB
  14.     JPEG    640x480    24 bit color    RGB
  15.     TIFF  1500x1125    24 bit color   CMYK

  19. Quick Start Instructions:
  20.  
  21.   Windows 95:
  22.     Insert the cdrom into the cdrom drive.  This will automatically
  23.     start a CDROM browser program called WinView.
  24.  
  25.   Windows 3.1:
  26.     Go to "File" menu under program manager and choose Run.  At the
  27.     Command Line box, type: "D:\setup", assuming 'D' is your cdrom drive.
  28.     This will install a group folder with icons for this cdrom.
  29.  
  30.     To start the CDROM browser program, double click on the icon called
  31.     WinView, or run the program w16view.exe located at the root directory
  32.     of the CDROM.
  33.  
  34.  Windows NT:
  35.     Go to "File" menu under program manager and choose Run.  At the
  36.     Command Line box, type: "D:\setup95", assuming 'D' is your cdrom drive.
  37.     This will install a group folder with icons for this cdrom.

  73. The files and applications on this cdrom are sorted by category.
  74. To access the files or applications just double-click on the item you
  75. are interested in.  If the files are compress or binhexed, you have
  76. to uncompress or unbinhex them before using.  There are utilities on this
  77. CDROM specifically for this task. They are in the 'MacUtils' Folder.

  79. Note: some folders include a readme document.  We advise that you
  80. read the readme document before opening any files or applications.

  87. To install Walnut Creek CDROM's Electronic Catalog, choose the RUN
  88. option from the FILE menu under Window's Program Manager.
  89. In the Command Line box, type in d:setup_a (Substitute d with
  90. the letter that identifies your CDROM drive if it's different
  91. from this example)

  95. Advanced image viewing using Powerview (the default image viewer.)
  96.  
  97. For an amazing "psychedelic" effect when viewing pictures under MSDOS:
  98.  
  99.    1) Be sure the disc is using its default viewer (Powerview).  If it
  100.       isn't, use the INSTALL.EXE program to switch to Powerview.
  101.  
  102.    2) Start up the VIEW program.
  103.  
  104.    3) Choose a directory that contains images.
  105.  
  106.    4) Choose an image.
  107.  
  108.    5) When the image is on your screen, press the "A" key.
  109.  
  110. Try some of the following keys:
  111.  
  112. G ...................... Color-kill on\off (or greyscale)
  113.  
  114. I ...................... Inversion on\off
  115.  
  116. A ...................... Cycle palette on\off (press ESC, a mouse  button,  or
  117.                          "A" to stop cycling)
  118.  
  119. C ...................... Component swap  (cycles  through  all combinations of
  120.                          the RGB components: RGB, RBG, BGR, etc.)
  121. Ctrl+C ................. Component swap reset
