============================== README.TXT ================================
Welcome to the Usenet Source Code CDROM Volume 2.
This CDROM archives newsgroups on the Internet where programmers
publish and release their program source codes. These newsgroups
include alt.sources, comp.sources.games, comp.sources.misc,
comp.sources.reviewed, comp.sources.unix and comp.sources.x. All of the
source codes were posted as newsgroup articles and were dated from the
year 1991 to early 1993.
Each release of source code is indexed either by volume and issue numbers
or by the date it was posted on the newsgroup. The newsgroup article files
are located in directories whose pathnames reflect this information.
Most article files have their contents unsharred and extracted to
their corresponding directories. Please check the files "00_index.txt"
under each directory for the articles' subject lines and the filename
listing for that directory.

Quick Start Instructions:
MSDOS Quick Start:
Change to your CDROM drive and type "view".
Example:
C:\> D:
D:\> view
Windows 3.1/NT/95:
Go to "File" menu under program manager and choose Run. At the
Command Line box, type: "D:\setup", assuming 'D' is your cdrom drive.
This will install a group folder with icons for this cdrom.
Using the 00_INDEX.HTM:
We have included 00_index.htm files so the user may use a Web browser
to view our disc.
In order to view this disc using these 00_index.htm files, point your
Web browser to the root level 00_index.htm file.
For example, in Netscape/Mosaic:
1) Choose File/Open File (or File/Open Local File with Mosaic)
2) Choose your CDROM Drive under "Drives"
3) Select the 00_index.htm file
4) Click on OK
============================================================================
Word Lookup:
This CDROM also contains a full word index program in the /utils directory.
Look in that directory for the binary for your system. From the root
directory of the CDROM, invoke the binary with the word you want to search
for as an argument. The source code for the lookup program is also available
in /utils/lookup_src if you do not find a binary for your system.
==========================================================================
WinView and View
To make browsing the disc easier, we have included the program WinView
for MicroSoft Windows, and the program VIEW for MSDOS on the CDROM.
These programs allow you to page through index files, browse through
directories on the CD, view documentations and uncompress/install the
program(s) you want onto your hard disk.
==========================================================================
Shareware
This disk contains many shareware programs and images. Shareware can
be considered to be a sort of try before you buy system where you are
expected to pay the program author a registration fee if you find the
program or image useful. You will find details of registration
included in the document/text files provided with each program.
