  8. I. NACS Technical Tips
  9.      A. If you are having any problems with your NACS make sure you have
  10.      version 2.09.  The upgrade to version 2.09 is PTF249.ZIP in NOVA
  11.      Library 9. 
  12.      B. For the best NACS configuration use a machine with 256K and a CGA
  13.      or Mono video adapter. (added RAM does not improve performance and
  14.      introduces potential memory conflicts).

  16.      B. NACS only supports NASI compatible communication applications.  
  17.      NACCOM.TXT in NOVA Library 9 contains a list of NASI compatible
  18.      applications.

  20.      B. To use NASI under Windows 3.0 or later download PTF234.ZIP from
  21.      NOVA Library 9. 
  22.  
  23.      C. Remove all jumpers from the WNIM adapter. 
  24.  
  25.      D. Each WNIM adapter must have its own 64k memory address that does
  26.      not conflict with any other devices, such as:
  27.           > video
  28.           > hard drive adapters
  29.           > Network Interface Cards
  30.           > The usable base memory area. 
  31.  
  32.      E. To use NASI with NetWare Access Server use the /D parameter when
  33.      invoking NASI (version 2.09 or greater).

  35. II. Ascom IV and NetWare Anywhere Technical Tips
  36.      A. Novell no longer sells ASCOM IV and NetWare Anywhere.  However, we
  37.      still support the versions we sold.  Please contact DMA/Symantec 
  38.      (516-462-6961) if you have a version LATER than: 
  39.           > ASCOM IV version 1.42 
  40.           > Anywhere version 3.11 
  41.      If you do not have the current version we suggest that you call
  42.      DMA/Symantec to purchase the upgrade.

  44.      B. If you are experiencing file transfer problems or have garbage
  45.      characters on your screen make sure the R-X TRANS parameter is off in
  46.      the configuration menu. 
  47.  
  48.      C. To install on Netware 3.0 or later; create a directory off the file
  49.      server's root directory and name it NASIAPPS.  Then copy the contents
  50.      of the install diskette into the new NASIAPPS directory, then run
  51.      INSTAPPS.  This will install your program.
