NOVELL ANNOUNCES 10-USER VERSION OF NETWARE v3.11
PROVO, Utah--Sept. 16, 1991--Novell, Inc., developer of NetWare
systems software, today announced a 10-user version of NetWare
v3.11 which is currently offered in 20-, 100- and 250-user
versions. The new user configuration is being added due to
increased demand from customers for a lower-cost entry point to
Novell's powerful, enterprise-wide network operating system.
"The 10-user version of NetWare v3.11 is designed for customers who
have offices with less that 10 users who use all of the NetWare
v3.11 services," said John Edwards, director of marketing for
Novell's NetWare Products Division. "These customers want the
file, print, communications and database services available in
NetWare v3.11."
The Same NetWare v3.11 Performance, Interoperability and
Reliability
The 10-user configuration offers the same high performance,
interoperability and reliability of the other NetWare v3.11
configurations. NetWare v3.11 utilizes a 32-bit, multitasking
architecture and supports DOS, Windows, Macintosh, OS/2 and UNIX
workstations. In addition, NetWare v3.11 offers reliability
features such as disk duplexing, read-after-write verification and
disk mirroring.
Remote sites and small branch offices of large corporations
standardizing on NetWare v3.11 can also take advantage of
additional NetWare Loadable Modules (NLMs) offered by Novell.
These services include:
NetWare for SAA v1.1 provides connectivity to IBM mainframes and
AS/400 host computers
NetWare FTAM offers connectivity to the OSI computing environment
NetWare for Macintosh v3.0 provides interoperability with the
Macintosh computing environment
NetWare NFS gives UNIX customers transparent access to NetWare
