  17.      This message is to those who wanted the email address for subscribing
  18.      to the email (free (suggested donation)) news service called the Daily
  19.      News Brief.

  25.      IN OTHER WORDS: Send an email to incinc@tiac.net and type subscribe db

  27.      not have to type anything else.

  29.      Like I stated above, they suggest a donation ($25 per year, I think),
  30.      but they understand if you can't afford it, or just want to check out
  31.      the service first.

  34.      continue to be free.

  36.      I hope you all enjoy it as much as I.  It has helped me ALOT in
  37.      keeping up with world news.  I print it out in the morning when I get
  38.      to work, and then I read it at lunch while I am on my lunch-time walk.

  52.      Can anyone tell me how to DOWNLOAD from elm?  I can delete, save to
  53.      local folder, etc.  but I want to save to a local DISK.

  55.      Also, how do I prepare a new message from elm?

  57.      I think I have looked thoroghly through the help and haven't seen
  58.      these issues addressed.

  61.      with a book on C= on the net!  I am really excited about that!  :-)  I
  62.      remember reading something about the problem with Novaterm locking up
  63.      while using Pine.  I have 9.5 and sure enough, it locks up everytime I
  64.      try to use Pine.  Do you know if 9.6 has fixed that?

  74.      No, I mean installing them on a Unix system that has lynx.  Installing
  75.      the patches just consists of making some small changes to the source
  76.      code, and recompiling.  However, on the first attempt to recompile,
  77.      there were several errors, so I'm going to have to go through it again
  78.      and see what the trouble is.

  80.      If it works, and you can get your sysadmin to install the patches, you
  81.      should be able to use Lynx with any secure server that Netscape will
  82.      talk to.

  109. You can pipe a message to an external command with "|" , but that
  110. probably wouldn't help much.  Most download programs (fx, sb, sx)
  111. don't take standard input, which makes sense, since if they did, they
  112. would have no filename to send to the other end.  Your best bet is
  113. probably to use "s" to save to a local file, and then transmit that
  114. file.  When elm saves to a local folder, it really just appends the
  115. message in plain ascii to a file, so you can do whatever you want with
  116. that.

  120. Just use "m" for new Message.  Most of the basic elm commands can be
  121. seen by typing "?" twice.

  124.         seen these issues addressed.

  126. On some systems, elm doesn't even have much help beyond a simple
  127. listing of commands.
