  18. I'd remove the case and scrub it down. DON'T use alcohol on the keys. It 
  19. takes the letters right off them. Some commercial clears (oops) cleaners will 
  20. also do it. The case isn't hard to remove. A couple of screws and that's it.

  27. I always use straight ammonia on both my keyboards and monitor glass. Every 
  28. six months or so, I pull the keys and clean the switches with  Freon and 
  29. compressed air, but then I am finicky about my keyboard. (Not that my typing 
  30. spe     warrants it!)

  51. Couple dozen screws?  This author has managed to strip the heads of several 
  52. c64 or 1541 screws... guess that leaves me out of internal cleaning...  Oh, 
  53. well, amonnia here I come!  Thanks, all! (was out for system repair...sigh)

  60. DO NOT use ammonia on monitor glass-- many of the better monitors (including 
  61. Commodore's color mon    ors) have a coating to reduce glare from sun, room 
  62. lights, etc. Ammonia will remove this coating.

  76. Carefulwith the cleaning fluid. I tr    d Monitor cleaner on the  
  77. keyboard...and it took the letters off the keys! Good grief.
