- I just received a Card-? +G with an older 64, and was wondering if
- anyone out there knew how to work it. It has no dip switches, so that
- idea was right out. If you have the guide for this, and could send it to
- me, it would be very helpful.
-
- Also, information on a "Xetec Graphics Printer Interface" would be
- useful. It has 7 dip switches: 123 ABC. I've lent it to a friend, but
- the only info I could give him was which jumper picks device 4 or 5 (and I
- don't remember that right offhand. Teach me to ask questions when I don't
- have all the info--that brings me to...)
-
- Actually, I'd like to set up a repository of printer interface dip
- switches and OPEN statement commands. If you could send me that
- informatin for your printer interface, I'll make sure it gets added to
- that list, which will be posted here and available at my Web site.
- (http://www.isl.net/~mmiller3 --though it doesn't have much info there
- right now, and nothing for Commodores.)
-
- Thanks for your help,

-
- Hmm, maybe this has been asked before I dunno but I looked around a fair

- I heard my c64 talk to me, in Impossible Mission, Barbie, etc:) "Anuder

- Ok, I've got heapsa books at home and even browsed through those,
- nothing too helpful, although one article in "The best of Torpet" sorta
- helped but it said to make a circuit for a speaker from the user port
- which isn't what I'm after, I want it to go to the television's

- Also asked some people on the local BBS i ring, they haven't got a
- clue, and I copped a "Why bother" comment. One guy though mentioned
- something about toggling printer dip switches?! Maybe he was pulling my
- leg, i don't know:) Hmm, also checked all the addresses i can poke on
- the SID but couldn't find much there either.
- I had a silly idea of pushing the volume setting up and down quickly,
- whacking in bytes from my friend's circuit to hook my walkman up to the
- joystick port. Hey, success, but it sounds shocking!! Probably worse
- than the IBM PC speaker.
- Anyways, i've blabbed on heaps, heheeh, so me would be very grateful

- If you mean using the volume control on the SID, then congratulations! You
- figured
- out how most sound samples are played on the C64. This only gives 4 bit
- resolution,
- but it can provide surprisingly good results if done correctly with a good
- sample.
-
- I built a sound digitizer that hooked to the user port a long time ago. Maybe I
- should dig that back up.
-
- There was some really great info on sound sampling/playing a long time ago on

- My 1541 drive used to work flawlessly, but last week something new
- suddenly happened: when i swith the drive on, the motor spins, but it
- does not stop as usual. On the contrary, it spins forever, and the red
- light blinks at a slow pace. The blinking does not match one of the
- patterns described in the faq, since it blinks forever, and not a
- precise number of times.
-
- Could you explain me what is going on and how to repair my drive ? A
- friend of mine gave me another broken drive, so that it may be possible
- to build a working one out of the two drives. The problem that second
- drive suffers from is that it does not answer any command. Still the
- motor stops as it should after a few seconds.
-
- Thanks for giving some advice,
- Gilles.

- I have been using Dialogue V2.2D for some time now and no matter how
- I set up the Phonelist default or the config file cr cr/lf or lf only,
- If I open the buffer to save stuff with the logo/B cmd, it saves it
- to buffer (and or appends it to buffer) alright, however it insists on
- double spacing all the lines, so I have to go through the buffer and
- delete all the empty lines. What a pain in the arse!. Changing the
- config file cr/lf to cr only or to lf only has no affect on the buffer
- save, it still double spaces all. If on the other hand I just use
- the "term screen Grab cmd" logo/G it grabs the text from the term
- screen and takes it to buffer without any extra spaced lines just as
- should be. I spoke to some other users of Dialogue V2.2D and they
- say they dont have that problem. Does anybody have any ideas?.
- I normally have the TABS clrd in the buffer default, and WW turned on.
- The lines go in okay with no wrapping at wrong places nor nothing like
- that. Thats why I use DESTERM most of the time as it does not do
- that silly double spacing when capturing to buffer.
- Help anybody.
