I've recently acquired a c-16 for =A35 and have started collecting games=20
for it...does anyone know if theres a games list anywhere?
I was tempted to buy a plus 4 but i believe that while plus 4 software
will work on a c-16, the reverse is not true...so is there any point in
owning one?

Hi there.
FYI, my all time best finish on MULE was 42,250 for Money,8550 for
Land, and 4,250 for goods. Overall, the Colony finished above
120,000 (128,000+)
Has anyone ever done better in a One player game (w/ 3 computer
players?)
I had 10 crystite plots, 3 food, and 4 energy
I haven't kept track exactly, but I don't think I've ever done quite
that well. I usually try to keep the computer players down as well as
building myself up, so my best overall I think was about 100,000. I'm
always looking for other humans to play, since the computer players
really aren't that smart. (I have a dream... Network Mule!)

Yea! I have that game- in fact I just played it yesterday, coincidence?
Anyway, the game I have is called CHILLY WILL but it is a great game and
now that I think about it, the tune is similar to what you (Ping) asked
for... I always thought it was the theme to Dalas or some other mid-80's
melodrama... If there are any more versions of this game, post the names
here as I would like to have a look-see at them...
Thanks,

Yea, it seems I didn't proof read that- I was quite presured for time and
my thoughts were getting mixed... My reply should read:
<me> Also, the SyQuest drives are loud (contrast the Zip drive) and they
<me> get quite hot for removable media because they are essentially a
<me> standard one platter hard drive with an added mechanism that allows
<me> the head to be safely lifted and the platter to be ejected...
<me> The Zip drive uses a different approach, the Zip disk itself is more
<me> like a floppy disk that has incredable access speed (for a
<me> floppy, that is) and the disk only spins when you are accessing the
<me> drive- the SyQuest spins constantly, like a hard drive...
Well, that at least fixes the contradictory statement that was in my
first reply but I really need to study up on how to write a
comp. and contrast essay, no?
later,
Radioactive Warrior

Society of Commodore Users and PET Enthusiasts Meeting Announcement
(Dallas, Texas USA)
The Society of Commodore Users and PET Enthusiasts (SCOPE) is a club devo=
ted
to all Commodore computers, including PET, C64/128, Amiga, as well as som=
e of
the rarer machines. SCOPE meets at the Infomart as part of the "Super
Saturday" event. If you are looking for Commodore support, news,=20
conversation, or are just curious, check us out. Our next meeting is=20
Saturday, July 20, 3rd floor room 3008. The schedule is as follows:
9:00 am - 12:00pm Vendor sale (Infomart Basement)
12:00pm - 1:00pm SCOPE club business (Room 3008)
1:00 pm - 4:00pm User group workshop (Room 3008)
This month should prove to be a very interesting meeting. Our group will=
be
among the first in the US to have a look at the "BeBox" personal computer=
by
Be Computer, Inc. The computer is based on dual PowerPC 603 CPUs at 66MH=
z
and a pre-emptive multitasking OS with a wide range of industry standard
expansion ports allowing the use of readily available and inexpensive IBM=
PC
hardware. Based on what I have seen about this machine it may very well =
set
the standard for the next generation of computer systems. More informati=
on
about Be and the BeBox can be found at www.be.com and the usenet news gro=
up=20
comp.sys.be.
Club equipment will be available (Amiga 2000, C128D, SX64 and CMD HD) so
as usual bring your thoughts, questions, and unique toys and enlighten us=
!
The Dallas Infomart is located about two miles north of downtown Dallas a=
t=20
the intersection of 35E and Oak Lawn. Take the Oak Lawn exit, Informat i=
s=20
the big white "palace" on the north bound side of 35E. Parking is free.
If you have further questions, please E-mail me at Egotrip@lesol1.dseg.ti=

Does any one have a 1570 manual they could sell me?

No. 4164 is a 64K by 1 bit chip. That's why you need 8 of them to make
64K bytes of memory in your 64. The 4464 is a 64K by 4 bit chip, so two
of them make up 64K bytes.
Other compatible chip numbers are 21464, 41464, and 81464. They are
available Through Jameco at 1-800-831-4242. Part #41582. They come in a
package of two.
Also, you can get them from any electronics house that carries Jim-Pak.=20
The Jim-Pak part number is 41464-12JP.

Ok, let's have it. Send it here or e-mail it. I could puzzle it out, bu=

I agree- the Gravis PC Gamepad is the only joystick I use, unless I need
analog. But I've only used it on my IBM compat. Using it on the C64
would be great!
The Sega pad's supposed to work, but I remember something about one of th=

There was a rumor circulating about a possible deal with China, but it wa=

that Viscorp owns the technology, any possibility of such a deal, if ther=

Are there any other C64 enthousiasts out there who have done the same ?

Any Plus/4 software that fits in the memory constraints of the C16 an=

does not use the built-in Plus/4 software or the user port will run on=20
the C16. It is possible to upgrade a C16 to a full 64K of RAM, and then=20
