-
- OVERVIEW
-
- Z Blaster Demo allows a C128 running CP/M 3.0 to play digitized
- sound files. These files are called Z Blaster Files or ZBFs and
- have the ZBF extension. ZBFs use a flexible file header, so many
- other digitized sound file formats can be used with the proper
- conversion software. Z Blaster Demo's ZBFs were ported from my 386
- DOS box with a Sound Blaster Pro stereo card. I converted the 8
- bit PCM data to 1 bit SW data (like Covox Voice Master produces)
- with my DOS Voice Editor program. Run ZBDEMO.COM to start demo.
- During play back the 40 column VIC screen will be blanked to
- prevent timing problems.
-
- I plan to release a Z Blaster player and utilities written with SG
- Tools, SG Tools Pro and Turbo Pascal 3.1. If you have Turbo Pascal
- 2.0 or higher and you want the SG Tools Programmer's Tool Box

-
- REQUIREMENTS
-
- A C128 or C128D equipped with CP/M 3.0
- At least one 1541, 1541 compatible or better disk drive
- 40 or 80 column monitor with sound output
-
- Z Blaster Demo was designed and tested on a stock C128D and 1581
- system.
-
-
- PURPOSE
-
- I wanted to add a Z80 digital sound player to my 6502 and 8086
- players since the play back algorithms are about the same. It also
- shows that CP/M on the C128 doesn't have to be totally bogus. In
- closing I would like to say it was a fun, but sometimes aggravating
- week of programming!
-
-
- PAYMENT
-
- I would like a payment of $10.00 (or whatever) US currency to the
- address below if you like Z Blaster Demo.
