PAPERPORTVIEWER.EXE is the Paperport viewer v5 for Windows 95/98. It is needed
toview and print *.max files, which are files of scanned images created with a
Visioneer paperport scanner. Download and run the file to install the viewer.
Viewers for other operating systems can be downloaded from www.scansoft.com.
Several versions of the Paperport Viewer can be downloaded from the /max-viewer
directory, including v5, v7 and a Macintosh version.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ADMAX.EXE is a self extracting archive that unpacks into a group of *.maxfiles.
These are mostly TI advertising product specification sheets. Included are spec
sheets for the 10 inch monitor, the 99/4A console, standalone floppy drive,
telephone coupler modem, peb, stand alone RS232, speech synthesizer, thermal
printer, and Tex Comp's never released 99/4A upgrade.
ASGARD.MAX is a 1992 Asgard software catalog describing lots of great
99/4Asoftware.
ADSF.MAX is a description of and prices of Scott Forseman's educational
products including its school administration application packages. Most of this
dates from 1982. The top page is from 1984 offering SF command modules, some
never before released, at close out sale prices.E99xxxxx.MAX are issues of
Enthusiast 99 magazine. This was a color glossy published by the International
User Group.
TINxxxxx.MAX are issues of the official TI newsletter sent to registered owners
of 99/4As. Some of the 1982 issues are missing from the set.
CSxxxxx.MAX are scanned pages from old Computer Shopper magazines that contain
articles about the 99/4A and Geneve.
CMxxxxx.MAX are scanned pages from the magazine "Vulcan's Computer Buyers
Guide", later changed to "Vulcan's Computer Monthly", later changed to "Computer
Monthly". This was a nationally distributed newsstand publication that picked
up coverage of orphan computer systems after such coverage was dropped by
Computer Shopper. The scanned pages contain a monthly column by Barry
Traver.S99xxxxx.MAX are complete scanned issues of "Super 99 Monthly". This
publication was for 99/4A and Geneve users only and eventually merged with
"Smart Programmer".
ADMGMAX.EXE is a self extracting archive containing advertisments and
descriptions of products once offered by Miller's Graphics. Included are the
Gram Kracker, Advanced Diagnostics, and Explorer. The archive unpacks into
*.max files that can be viewed and printed with the Paperport viewer.
SPxxxxx.MAX are scanned issues of The Smart Programmer magazine. This was
originally published by Craig Miller of Miller's Graphics and was later,
beginning with the June 86 issue, taken over by and merged with Super 99Monthly
magazine. The quality of information is high, particularly in the early issues.
Many issues were actually published months later than the cover date. There
were no issues between those dated Sept 84 and June 86.The magazine abruptly
ceased publication with its Feb 87 issue. The "Volume1" (currently unavailable)
and "Volume 2" issues preceeded the Feb 84 issue.
ADBEIGE.MAX is a 1983 TI advertisment brochure illustrating a bunch of beige
colored peripherals including a beige PE box, 10 inch color monitor, joysticks,
speech synthesizer, and console. Some hexbus peripherals are also described for
use with the 99/4a.
EASY1183.MAX is the premier issue of EASY COMPUTING magazine, a publication for
novice owners of the 99/4A. The cover appears to show all beige peripherals
including the hexbus interface and a cosmetically redesigned speech synthesizer.
It is dated November 1983, and no subsequent issues ever appeared. I guess this
was a particularly bad month and year to start a new 99/4a magazine.
