Using SHIFT plus the four cursor (arrow) keys will emulate the
PF1 (gold key) through PF4 keys of the VT100 keypad. These key
combinations will always produce the proper code automatically,
whether in application or normal mode.
USING THE SETUP PROGRAM
SETUP.BA is used to set certain default parameters for the VT100
program. A VT100 has a setup mode where these parameters are
set. Some of these parameters are controlled in the TELCOM STAT
function. Others, such as VT52 and 132 column mode are not
supported in 100/100. SETUP.BA is used to set TAB stops,
autowrap mode and new-line mode. These can ala be changed under
host program control.
Simply run SETUP and the rest is simply following instructions on
the menu.
Press:
'W' to turn on Autowrap mode
'N' to turn on no autowrap mode
'L' to toggle between new line and no new line mode
'T' to set new tab stop defaults
'M' to return to menu
After 'T' you will get a ruler counting up to 80. The present
tab stops will be shown on this ruler. Moving the cursor with
the arrow keys you can move to where you want the tab stops to
be. Press TAB or 'T' and a new tab will be set. Moving to an
existing tab and pressing SPACE will erase a current tab. When
finished, press ESC.
Before running SETUP, VT100.CO must be loaded into memory since
the program pokes the new values in and reads the current tab
stops. After running, the version of VT100.CO will be changed in
upper memory. If you want to save these defaults, you must save
this version.
APPENDIX A
TOGGLING XON/XOFF PROTOCOL
100/100 requires the use of the XON/XOFF protocol. In other
words, when you set the parameters using the F3 STAT command in
TELCOM, the parameters must always end with 'E':
M7I1E 37I1E 57N1E etc.
However, there may be a time within the VT100 emulator that you
would need to turn off that protocol. The only instance I can
think of is one which affects myself and so I will use that as an
example.
I log onto one of many VAX
