  1. CTC.BA RULES OF PLAY v1.1 
  2. -DREW BLANCHAR APRIL 89
  3.  
  4. OBJECT:  To move your train from your 
  5. starting YARD to the DESTINATION YARD,
  6. (200 MILES) in 1 shift of 12 HOURS.
  7.  
  8. FACTORS:  Track speed limits will be
  9. under Central Traffic Control (CTC).
  10.  
  11. OPERATION:  123 "ORDERS" are randomly
  12. shuffled at the start of your shift.
  13. The following ORDERS may be available
  14. to you at any time:
  15.   QTY    ORDER        TIME USE (hrs)
  16.   20    10 MPH        1
  17.   10    20 MPH        1
  18.   10    30 MPH        1
  19.   10    40 MPH        1
  20.   10    50 MPH        1
  21.   10     60 MPH        1
  22.    6    REPAIRS        1
  23.    6    SPARE FUEL TANK      1/2
  24.    8    EXPRESS CLEARANCE 1/4
  25.   23    CTC CLEARANCE      1/4
  26.  
  27.   Your train be waiting in the YARD for
  28. clearance from CTC.  You will be handed
  29. 7 ORDERS (left side of screen).
  30.   Use <F1> or <F2> (^ v) to select an
  31. ORDER to ISSUE <F3>, READ appropriate
  32. RULE <F4>, or DISCARD and issue new
  33. order <F6>.  Each DISCARD uses 1/4 hr.
  34.  
  35. BEGIN:  A CLEAR must be issued.  If you
  36. have no CLEAR order, you must select
  37. <F1><F2> an ORDER to DISCARD <F6>.
  38.   Speed limit within the YARD is 10 MPH
  39. and you must ISSUE <F3> a 10 MPH to
  40. proceed. 
  41.  
  42. RUNNING:  Once outside of the YARD,
  43. speed limit may be increased to 60 MPH
  44. if you have and issue EXPESS clearance.
  45.   Speed is restricted as you reach the
  46. destination YARD.
  47.  
  48. HAZARDS:  No train or track trouble
  49. will appear within 20 miles of the
  50. starting YARD ("180 mi to dest.").
  51.   Some troubles that might appear (and
  52. remedy):

  55.   6  ASSORTED HAZARDS        REPAIR

  57. WARNING: !FRIDAYS CAN BE ESPECIALLY
  58. DIFFICULT!  Work quickly.
