- In article <1n4auaINNr3a@ftp.UU.NET>, you write:
- >All three of these documents had their test methods written
- >for them by a couple of contractors in the employ of X/Open.
-
- I set up an API mailing list 2 months ago with the purpose of
- discussing X/Open APIs (and their IEEE partners). The main issue
- arising from list members questions was that the spec to XOM
- (and other X/Open APIs) was far from complete and often very
- difficult to understand. This leads to different implementations
- based upon implementor X's interpretation of the API spec.
-
- This forum is the only arena I have seen for discussing problems
- with the above specs. Much useful discussion has taken place.
- The chairpersons from both the XOM, XDS (and IEEE counterparts)
- APIs subscribe and contribute to the group.
-
- To subscribe, mail api-request@mel.dit.csiro.au
-
- If you just want to read the digests, mail to the same address.
-
- Whilst much useful discussion has taken place, no formal input
- to either IEEE or X/Open can be achieved from this group (due
- to the nature of the API groups)
