- (The debate about a new UNIX man standard, e.g, a SGML/HyTime based system
- supporting hypertext. SGML and HyTime are ISO standards for a text markup
- language and a hypertext hypermedia extension to it.)

- I'm not blind and I'm not an expert for braille terminals, but I don't under-
- stand your argument, because:
-
- - most braille terminals can display everything an text terminal can.
- - there have wonderful hypertext browsers been constructed for
- text terminals.
- - SGML encodes only the content and structure of a text, not the
- layout, so writing versions of an SGML based man especially
- designed for the needs of braille terminal users should be
- easier and better possible than with simple text formating
- languages like nroff (e.g. you could insert special easy to find
- braille codes for anchors or use sound effects that help you
- navigating in the text).
-
- Have blind people serious problems with hypertext manuals like GNU info
- and the one in Borland products? Why? SGML doesn't force you to use
- a complex GUI that might be difficult to cope with for blinds.
