  1. [ This is an outtake from the next calendar postings.  Noticing
  2. the submission date, I decided I'd better post it now.  -mod ]

  4. ICX89 is the First International Conference on Advanced Computing,
  5. and is being organised by the IEEE Student Branch and the Department
  6. of Electronics of the Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria (USM).
  7. ``This first conference will be devoted to the UNIX operating
  8. system and related topics.  This subject was chosen to establish
  9. the universal character of this event, as UNIX is now considered.''
  10. There will be a plenary, technical sessions, tutorials, and vendor
  11. and book exhibitions.  Official languages will be English and Spanish,
  12. with simultaneous translation.
  13.  
  14. Submissions of technical papers or abstracts should be by three
  15. paper copies or by electronic mail by 15 January 1989.  Preliminary
  16. notification of acceptance will be by 15 February 1989.
  17. Final versions of the papers should be written according  to
  18. the IEEE transaction format, and are are due by 14 April 1989.
  19. Final official notification will be sent by 15 May 1989.
