  19. I critiqued the cksum manual page for Keith Bostic about a year ago,
  20. suggested they use CRC-32,
  21. and provided a general-purpose cksum program that could
  22. use any polynomial (CRC-32 by default).
  23. I thought it was nicely written and as fast as anything portable can be.
  24. I guess it got dropped on the floor.
