  1. Mcp was written and tested under 4.2 and 4.3 BSD UNIX and Sun 4.2 Rel 3.0
  2. UNIX.  Mcp should be lint-free under all these systems unless I let
  3. something slip by at the last minute.  Taking care of "possible pointer
  4. alignment problems" really paid off when I had to port mcp from a VAX to a
  5. Sun.  Many other things we tried to port died in agony.  I mention this only
  6. as a warning to those who wish to make improvements.

  8. Note to Sun users:
  9.     Mcp was never intended to run under the Yellow Pages!
  10.     I have not even considered the ramifications
  11.     of writing code to deal with this, because we chose not
  12.     to use the Yellow Pages.

  14. Installation instructions are in the 'Installation' file.  As far I can
  15. tell, everything works.  If you're convinced I'm wrong, send bug reports
  16. to my e-mail address.
