  10. Getting on uunet has been even more difficult than usual; the site I use to
  11. "rlogin" to uunet seems to have been having local network troubles, and I try
  12. to avoid using other means due to the cost to uunet.  So things have again
  13. piled up.  (The local network problem has been resolved, as proved by the fact
  14. that I have posted this; previously, I could be absolutely certain of a network
  15. interruption if I stayed on long enough to prepare something like this.)

  17. This will be the last posting in volume 10; the following messages will be in
  18. volume 11 following the welcome posting and index.  I have listed them in the
  19. order in which they will be posted; the preceding number is the order of
  20. receipt.  (Receipts 1 and 2 went out a few days ago, before I got network-
  21. error-ed off of uunet for the n'th time.)

  23. Some of you may have noticed that the previous two postings in this group
  24. were single part submissions, but were handled as multi-part submissions.
  25. This will be the standard way of handling such postings from now on; with
  26. archive names like "thack.p6" cropping up, it's clearly time to do something
  27. about patches to single-parters.  I will probably add some other features in
  28. the (near?) future, including an indication of the original volume/issue
  29. numbers of a posting for which a patch is being posted and possibly a
  30. supercedure mechanism.
