  1.   TEST YOUR SENSE OF SMELL (1)

  3. To do this experiment you need a strong smelling substance such as perfume or sliced onion and some friends.  
  4.  
  5. 1) Put the smelly substance into a jar and close it tightly.  Place it in the middle of the room.
  6.  
  7. 2) Arrange your friends around the room - some near the smell, some further away.
  8.  
  9. 3) Now take the lid off the substance.  Get your friends to put up their hands when they notice the smell.  Time how long it takes for the smell to reach everyone.

  11. 4) Repeat the experiment with different smells.  Is there any difference? 
  12. What happens if you put a fan in the room?
  13. Experiment with different ways of stopping strong smelling things from smelling.
