Blood flows into each kidney.
Urine passes down the ureter to the bladder, where it is stored.
When the bladder is full, messages sent to the brain tell you to go to the toilet.
You relax the muscle in the bladder and urine leaves your body.
The kidneys filter the blood and produce urine from excess water and urea.
