Touch
Your skin has a number of nerve endings called sensors.
- Touch sensors - These are close to hairs. When you touch something, the hair moves and a signal is sent to the brain.
- Pressure sensors - These help your brain to decide if things are heavy or light.
- Temperature sensors - these send messages to tell the brain whether things are hot or cold. They are found mostly on your fingers and lips.
- Pain sensors - These send messages to the brain to tell it that something is wrong.
