The Liver
The liver has several functions:
-It breaks down old red blood cells and produces bile.
-It takes the newly absorbed food from the small intestine and converts it into products required by the body.
-It stores some vitamins and minerals for later use.
-It produces heat.
-It destroys poisons and alcohol.
-It produces chemicals that make the blood clot.
-It keeps glucose levels steady.
