Food passes from the stomach into the duodenum, where it is mixed with bile. This helps digestion by changing fats and oils into small droplets.
Enzymes from the pancreas and the ileum wall finish digesting the food completely. The dissolved or digested foodstuffs are then absorbed into the blood system through the villi. They then pass into the liver, where they are converted into products required by the body.
