Only females have ovaries. Ovaries produce eggs. They also release two hormones called oestrogen and progesterone, which control the development of female characteristics such as soft skin, breasts, and a female voice.
Oestrogen and progesterone are also important in protecting and helping a baby grow inside the mother.
