  2.   Quad-P was reborn as an art group in a moment of silliness. After one of
  3. our late night slurpee runs to 7-11. Paul and I were sitting around the
  4. computer doing dumb shit on irc. And then he turned to me and with a grin
  5. said "lets bring back Quad-P as an art group". Of course we laughed about
  6. it.. this was sometime in the fall of 1994 and the 306 (Saskatchewan) had
  7. no art scene at all.. just the odd person doodling this or that. But we
  8. followed through with the joke, gathered some local people and some wacky
  9. east-coast Canadians (those same wacky bastards who made Iniquity) and put
  10. out a pack, or as we called it, our periodical.

  12.   The ups and downs of running this group for four years can not be
  13. properly summized in as brief a text as this, but I feel it is important
  14. that I say something.. as I think back on it all now I feel like I
  15. blinked and four years shot past me, and I'm just trying to catch up.

  17.   Quad-P was never, and will never be ACiD. And that was the whole point.
  18. When we reformed the group in '94 (Quad-P was a defunct pirate group from
  19. the late 80s in the 306) we, or atleast I, was proud of the fact none of
  20. us could draw worth shit.. it wasn't ever about being the best, it was
  21. simply about being. Over the years this mentality changed somewhat, as 
  22. did the skills of many of our members. People came and went within the
  23. group, most often leaving in search of a group which was more interested
  24. in doing all that scene shit (confs, actually talking to each other,
  25. getting money for artwork, etc).. but we just smiled and wished them the
  26. best (almost always anyways, I will never forgive a certain someone for
  27. turning his back on the 306 when it needed him to raise the stakes in
  28. ansi and represent for-real). We kept it going longer than anyone, myself
  29. included, thought we would. I send love and the deepest of appreciation to
  30. everyone who made it possible. It was fun kids.. it was a real trip..

  32.   When I left the 306 to come reside in 604 and go to university, I
  33. believed my leaving would force the group to call it quits. I am a little
  34. saddened to see my prediction has come true, but I don't believe in
  35. tearful goodbyes. Quad-P became my responsibility when Paul (Modal) lost
  36. interest in it, and I was proud to take it on. Quad-P and the people
  37. envolved were always underrated and overlooked in my opinion, but in my
  38. world y'all were kings.

  40.   The point is this: We were a group. If anyone ever asks about us, all I
  41. hope they hear is that we were. Peace.

  47.   Terry - You were and are the rule by which Quad-P ansi should be
  48.           judged.. you coulda gone anywhere you wanted but you kept
  49.           your cool and remained a local stud, and I ain't never
  50.           forgot. Shout me out sometime and let me know how things
  51.           are with you 'n shit.

  53.   Dorian - You brought us new connections and members when we needed 'em,
  54.            and you kept me grounded and up to date in all the local news
  55.            when I was a non-local irc junkie, thanks man. Glad you're
  56.            still doing scene stuff and pimpin' Remorse, you deserve it.

  58.   Con - You died for us, and I've always felt a little tinge of regret
  59.         that it happened like it did (it was Paul's idea y'know), but I
  60.         love you d34db0y and your whole mafia family. Don't skip off to
  61.         Japan without stopping over for a couple days, aight?

  63.   Paul - You bailed on the group, but then I bailed on our friendship
  64.          so I guess its all even in the end. I'm glad we started this
  65.          tho.. it was good and did more for the 306 than you'll ever
  66.          know..

  68.   Mark - You never really had anything to do with Quad-P besides letting
  69.          me run it and still chill with Remorse at the same time, but
  70.          you get a shout just for being the cool motherfucker you are.

  72.   I'ld also like to thank you for being there.. art needs an audience.

  74.   And to everyone who ever produced under the Quad-P or Modicum Music
  75.   label.. thanks for coming out, now go get a life. ;)
