  1. This directory contains video drivers from Microsoft. Please see
  2. under "Troubleshooting" in the main README.TXT file located in
  3. the root ("\") directory of the encyclopedia CD for instructions
  4. on when you might want to use these drivers and how to install
  5. them.

  8. Windows 3.1 256 Color Display Driver Release Notes

  11. This directory contains a high-speed 256 color display driver
  12. for Windows 3.1 which supports most non-accelerated Super VGA
  13. display types. If you have a video card other than what is
  14. listed below you may not want to use these drivers.

  16. For 800x600 256 colors and 1024x768 256 colors resolutions
  17. you will need 1Mb of memory on you video card.

  19. You can install this driver by using Windows
  20. Setup to select one of the following display types:

  22.     Super VGA  640x480 256 colors
  23.     Super VGA  800x600 256 Large    ; Large fonts
  24.     Super VGA  800x600 256 Small    ; Small fonts
  25.     Super VGA 1024x768 256 Large    ; Large fonts

  66.           be restored correctly when switched back to full-screen
