  1. Welcome to the 1995 Toyota Interactive 
  2. CD-ROM Program. It's just part of 
  3. "Toyota Interactive" which includes 
  4. diskettes covering selective vehicles; 
  5. the 1995 Toyota Screen Saver; and direct 
  6. access to Toyota through on-line services 
  7. such as Prodigy, America Online, CompuServe 
  8. and Toyota's World Wide Web site.
  9.  
  10. Minimum System Requirements (for Windows):
  11.   -386 machine
  12.   -256-color Display
  13.   -8 MB of RAM recommended
  14.   -Windows 3.1 or later
  15.   -QuickTime for Windows 2.0.1
  16.   -Sound Card
  17.   -3 MB of hard disk space
  18.   -Double-speed CD-ROM drive

  21. Installation Procedures for Windows:
  22. 1) If you don't already have Quicktime 
  23.    for Windows 2.0.1 installed, you must install it 
  24.    from the 1995 Toyota Interactive CD-ROM. 
  25.    You will find the installer program, "SETUP.EXE", 
  26.    inside the "QTW201" directory on the CD-ROM. 
  27.    The following instructions will help you install it.
  28.  
  29. A) Choose "Run" from the Program Manager's "File" menu.
  30.  
  31. B) Type "D:\QTW201\SETUP.EXE" in the command line field.
  32.  
  33. C) Click once on the "OK" button.
  34.  
  35. D) Once the installer program is running 
  36.    choose a "Local" installation by selecting 
  37.    the "Continue" button in the "Installation 
  38.    Options" dialog box.
  39.  
  40. E) NOTE: There is no reason to register 
  41.    Quicktime for Windows, so just bypass 
  42.    that part of the installation.

  44. F) Remember to restart Windows. Until 
  45.    you do so Quicktime will remain inactive.

  48. 2) To run the 1995 Toyota Interactive program either:
  49.  
  50. A) Double-click on the TOYOTA95.EXE file 
  51.    from within the File Manager.
  52.  
  53. B) Choose "Run" from the Program Manager's 
  54.    "File" menu and type "D:\TOYOTA95" in the 
  55.    command line field. Then just click once on "OK."

  58. Optimizing Toyota Interactive's Performance:
  59.  
  60. Toyota Interactive requires the full attention 
  61. of your computer, so it's recommended that you 
  62. quit all other applications prior to starting.
  63.  
  64. If video performance is slow, try setting your 
  65. monitor to 256 colors.
  66.

  68. Quick Check List:
  69.  
  70. 1) Verify the installation of 
  71.    QuickTime for Windows 2.0.1.
  72. 2) Quit any other applications.
  73. 3) Make sure your monitor is set to 256-color mode 
  74.    or better. (The method used to verify/change 
  75.    this varies from model to model, so consult 
  76.    your Owner's Manual if you are not certain 
  77.    how many colors you are displaying.)
  78. 4) Call 1-800-GO-TOYOTA for futher assistance.

  80. IBM Thinkpad Owners:
  81. If you are running the program from an IBM Thinkpad 
  82. and are experiencing problems, you may need to install 
  83. a patch program. The software can be obtained from 
  84. IBM Tech Support at 800-772-2227. Be sure to read 
  85. their installation instructions carefully.
