│ IMP2DUKE V1.1 - (c) 1996 by Jonas P. (joXonoX@aol.com) │
└─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
This utility will replace the TROOPERS of DUKE NUKEM 3D V1.3d (full version)
with IMPS from good old DOOM (the grafix)!
Here is how:
Copy the following files into the DUKE3D directory:
IMP2DUKE.EXE
IMP2DUKE.DA1
Type
"IMP2DUKE A" to add the Imps to DUKE3D
"IMP2DUKE R" to restore the TROOPERS
(You may use "/" or "-" in front. You also can type "add"/"restore" instead
of "a"/"r", you even can type any word as long the first letter is "a" or "r")
It will be much faster with SMARTDRV loaded!
On my computer it works under WIN95.
When adding the IMPS first time, IMP2DUKE will create the file IMP2DUKE.DA2.
This file contains the TROOPER-bitmap-data and should'nt be deleted if you
want to be able to restore the TROOPER.
After restoring the trooper, DUKE3D.GRP will be exactly the same as before.
You can add and restore as often as you want.
If you play MULTI PLAYER DUKE3D then you don't need to take care about the
imps. It works if one has imps and the others not.
I tested IMP2DUKE on several machines and it worked just fine.
I made this programm as fast, secure and easy to use as possible.
However, I will of course NOT be responsible for any problems you might
get into due to this program. The only file thas is going to be modified
is DUKE3D.GRP. So maybe you want to backup that one (26 megs).
To back up DUKE3D.GRP type:
MOVE DUKE3D.GRP DUKE3D.BAK (it will only rename it)
COPY DUKE3D.BAK DUKE3D.GRP (it will take it's time)
To get back the original one type:
MOVE DUKE3D.BAK DUKE3D.GRP (it will only rename it)
But anyway, there will be flying, ducking, beaming and shitting Imps all
over the place in youre DUKE3D MAPs. There are also imp-parts flying around
if you blow'em up. Ain't that cool and fun?
I worked on 67 bitmaps and had to modify a lot to make the DOOM grafix look
nice for DUKE3D. I think the work was worth it.
Soon there will be other monsters and MAPs available too.
If you want to get this and/or other stuff E-Mail me at joXonoX@aol.com.
Also mail me if you have any questions, suggestions or problems with IMP2DUKE.
You not only MAY, but MUST :) distribute IMP2DUKE! But please keep everything
complete and don't modify anything. Best give IMP2DUKE.ZIP to any DUKE addict
you know.
IMP2DUKE.ZIP must contain the following files:
IMP2DUKE.EXE
IMP2DUKE.DA1
IMP2DUKE.TXT (this one)
Credits to: 3DREALMS - Thanx folks, I'm having fun!
IDSOFT - Nice try. I'm only kiddin'. Great classic!
Daniel Meklenburg Jr - He coded DN3D-DC (great tool to dissect
the DUKE3D.GRP file), was great help!
