Mutiple floors in the same space.
refer to the mtlistep.map. step 1 is in the upper left, step 2 upper right
and so on. the lower right is another example.
Step 1:
-Define your rooms like in the first sector. Or something like it.
Step 2:
-Make each room a seperate sector, (by drawing the red lines you make
it a sector, see map) ie: you can raise and lower the ceiling/floor
with each sector. Rooms can take up the same space on the same level,
there are some qwirks which i will explain below.
Step 3:
-Overlap the rooms as needed. It doesn't matter if walls are overlaped,
it's just easier to maintain and see them if they are not.
Qwirks:
-Rooms cannot have the same entry point in 2d mode, they have to be
offset. For instance rooms 1 and 2 entrance cannot be above and below each
other
-Things go funky when the room is viewed from the outside.
(look at step 3 without the fixes to see what i mean)
Fixes: (shown in step 4 on the map)
-sprites cover the entrance so the view doesn't get messed.
( rooms 2 & 3 )
-make a structure so it is not possible to view into the room.
( rooms 1 & 4 )
That is all, I'm learning more every minute, I'm making a file to document
what I have learned. NOW GO START MAKING AWESOME LEVELS!
