  130. Q. What is it?
  131. A. Printer's Apprentice is a font management utility for the Windows
  132.    3.1 operating environment. It helps you manage all your TrueType
  133.    and Adobe Type 1 fonts by printing inventory sheets (4 flavors!),
  134.    ANSI charts, keyboard layouts, and specimen sheets. It was noted
  135.    as the *BEST* Windows font utility by PC Magazine (10/27/92) and
  136.    features one of the sharpest interfaces around.

  138. Q. How do I install this program real quick?
  139. A. Unzip the PRNAP58.ZIP to a new diskette or directory and run
  140.    INSTALL.EXE. This will decompress the files and copy them
  141.    to the right places on your hard drive.

  173. Q. What happens if I get a "Out of Date" error after installing the
  174.    software??
  175. A. Every attempt has been made to distribute the latest versions of
  176.    the VBX & DLL support files. However, making sure the correct version
  177.    is on your machine can be a pain. Some shareware (and commercial!!)
  178.    vendors do not use reliable SETUP.EXE and INSTALL.EXE programs. These
  179.    programs may overwrite a support file or place the wrong date stamp
  180.    on a copied file. Thus you will receive a "out of date" error when
  181.    you try to run Printer's Apprentice. If you get this error, the fix
  182.    is easy.
  183.  
  184.         1) Search your ENTIRE hard drive for the offending file. 2)
  185.         Delete ALL copies of this file. You may be surprised at how many
  186.         duplicate VBX files you have creeping around on your hard drive.
  187.         3) Restart Windows. 4) Reinstall Printer's Apprentice. This
  188.         should fix everything for you.
  189.  
  190. Q. I noticed this version uses different VBX files? Can I delete VBX
  191.  files
  192.    from your old versions that are no longer used??
  193. A. I have really, really tried to reduce the number of third-party add
  194.    on files used by Printer's Apprentice. Listed below are VBX's that
  195.    where used by prior (5.6 & below) version. You can delete them from
  196.    your Windows & System directories...

  205. Q. How do I remove the program if I need more space on my machine?
  206. A. There is a file named INSTALL.LOG located in the PA directory. This
  207.    lists out *every* file and program manager group added to your system.
  208.    Note: Some other vendors may use some VBX files on your system.
  209.    THREED.VBX is a VERY popular file!!

  211. Q. What happened to the documentation file?
  212. A. Everything has been placed in a Windows help file. Just click
  213.    the Help menu item or the question mark icons...

  237. A. When you register, I will send you a code and a certificate. Upon
  238.    release of major upgrades, I will notify you with a post card. The
  239.    cost of duplication and mailing has gotten out of hand, so upgrades
  240.    will cost a nominal $5 if you need a new diskette. Or you can wait to
  241.    find the program on a local BBS. The codeword will always work for
  242.    future editions.

  297. The files contained on this diskette or in the single ZIP file
  298. (PRNAP58.ZIP) are compressed executables, help files, and supporting
  299. files for Printer's Apprentice. This software may be installed by
  300. running the INSTALL.EXE file from the diskette or a temporary directory.
  301. The installation software is a Windows program that will decompress the
  302. files, copy them to your desired location, and install an icon in
  303. Program Manager.

  305. To Install:
  306. 1. From the Windows Program Manager, File Manager, or other shell select
  307.    RUN from the FILE menu.

  309. 2. At the prompt, type
