  32. Q. What is it?
  33. A. Printer's Apprentice is a font management utility for the Windows
  34.    3.1 operating environment. It helps you manage all your TrueType
  35.    and Adobe Type 1 fonts by printing inventory sheets (4 flavors!),
  36.    ANSI charts, keyboard layouts, and specimen sheets. It was noted
  37.    as the *BEST* Windows font utility by PC Magazine (10/27/92) and 
  38.    features one of the sharpest interfaces around.

  40. Q. How do I install this program real quick?
  41. A. Unzip the PRNAP58.ZIP to a new diskette or directory and run
  42.    INSTALL.EXE. This will decompress the files and copy them
  43.    to the right places on your hard drive.

  45. Q. How does the program modify your system?
  46. A. The Printer's Apprentice setup program will copy several files
  47.    to your computer.

  71.    The installation program will prompt you before writing over
  72.    files that already exist!

  74. Q. What happens if I get a "Out of Date" error after installing the
  75.    software??
  76. A. Every attempt has been made to distribute the latest versions of
  77.    the VBX & DLL support files. However, making sure the correct version
  78.    is on your machine can be a pain. Some shareware (and commercial!!) 
  79.    vendors do not use reliable SETUP.EXE and INSTALL.EXE programs. These
  80.    programs may overwrite a support file or place the wrong date stamp
  81.    on a copied file. Thus you will receive a "out of date" error when 
  82.    you try to run Printer's Apprentice. If you get this error, the fix
  83.    is easy.
  84.     1) Search your ENTIRE hard drive for the offending file.
  85.         2) Delete ALL copies of this file. You may be surprised at
  86.            how many duplicate VBX files you have creeping around on
  87.            your hard drive.
  88.         3) Restart Windows.
  89.         4) Reinstall Printer's Apprentice. This should fix everything
  90.            for you.

  92. Q. I noticed this version uses different VBX files? Can I delete VBX files
  93.    from your old versions that are no longer used??
  94. A. I have really, really tried to reduce the number of third-party add
  95.    on files used by Printer's Apprentice. Listed below are VBX's that
  96.    where used by prior (5.6 & below) version. You can delete them from
  97.    your Windows & System directories...

  101.        PICCLIP.VBX
  102.    
  103.    NOTE: These files may be used by other shareware programs on your
  104.    computer. Check your documentation for more information.

  106. Q. How do I remove the program if I need more space on my machine?
  107. A. There is a file named INSTALL.LOG located in the PA directory. This
  108.    lists out *every* file and program manager group added to your system.
  109.    Note: Some other vendors may use some VBX files on your system.
  110.    THREED.VBX is a VERY popular file!!

  112. Q. What happened to the documentation file?
  113. A. Everything has been placed in a Windows help file. Just click
  114.    the Help menu item or the question mark icons...

  134. Q. What is the upgrade policy?
  135. A. When you register, I will send you a code and a certificate. Upon release
  136.    of major upgrades, I will notify you with a post card. The cost of
  137.    duplication and mailing has gotten out of hand, so upgrades will cost
  138.    a nominal $5 if you need a new diskette. Or you can wait to find the
  139.    program on a local BBS. The codeword will always work for future 
  140.    editions.

  143. A. Yes! I am always open to suggestions! This software is made for
  144.    anyone who cares about type. Designers, DTPers, layout artists,
  145.    print shops, publishers, etc, this sofware is for you. If you have
