  1. The first stage of the installation of the Micro CADAM free demonstration
  2. software can be broken down into 6 steps as follow:
  3.  
  4. 1.   DOWNLOAD THE FILES FROM THE BBS TO YOUR COMPUTER AND COPY THEM ALL INTO
  5.      THE SAME DIRECTORY ON YOUR HARD DISK:
  6.  
  7.      There are five (5) files to download:
  8.  
  9.      a.   MCADAM.ZIP which contains
  10.  
  11.           i.   Install2.txt (this file)
  12.           ii.  Overview.txt (gives an overview of Micro CADAM)
  13.           iii. Readme.txt (information about Micro CADAM)
  14.           iv.  Disk1.bat (Unzips MCADAM1.ZIP to floppy disk 1 of 4)
  15.           v.   Disk2.bat (Unzips MCADAM2.ZIP to floppy disk 2 of 4).
  16.           vi.  Disk3.bat (Unzips MCADAM3.ZIP to floppy disk 3 of 4).
  17.           vii. Disk4.bat (Unzips MCADAM4.ZIP to floppy disk 4 of 4).
  18.  
  19.      b.   MCADAM1.ZIP which contains
  20.  
  21.           i.   MCD.ZIP file which is copied to disk 1 of 4.
  22.           ii.  READ.ME file which contains additional information.
  23.           iii. PKUNZIP.EXE which is the registered version.  Please use this
  24.                version to unzip your files.
  25.           iv.  INSTALL.BAT which is the batch file used to install the Micro
  26.                CADAM program FROM the floppy disks TO your hard disk.
  27.           v.   INSTALL.TXT which is a text file with instructions on how to
  28.                install (and also configure and setup) the Micro CADAM program
  29.                FROM the floppy disk TO the hard disk.
  30.  
  31.      c.   MCADAM2.ZIP which contains the MCD.ZIP file which is copied to disk
  32.           2 of 4.
  33.  
  34.      d.   MCADAM3.ZIP which contains the MCD.ZIP file which is copied to disk
  35.           3 of 4.
  36.  
  37.      e.   MCADAM4.ZIP which contains the MCD.ZIP file which is copied to disk
  38.           4 of 4.
  39.  
  40. 2.   UNZIP THE MCADAM.ZIP FILE INTO ITS INDIVIDUAL FILES IN THE HARD DISK
  41.      DIRECTORY:
  42.  
  43.      Use your own copy of pkunzip.exe to unzip the MCADAM.ZIP files into
  44.      their present directory.  When you are prompted to overwrite the
  45.      existing pkunzip.exe file, say yes.  The registered version of
  46.      pkunzip.exe (included in the MCADAM.ZIP file) will now replace your
  47.      unregistered version of pkunzip.exe.
  48.  
  49. 3.   UNZIP THE MCADAM1.ZIP FILE FROM THE HARD DISK, TO A FLOPPY DISK:
  50.  
  51.      a.   Place an empty, formatted high density disk into your floppy drive
  52.           (either a 1.2MB 5-1/4" or 1.44 3-1/2" disk)
  53.  
  54.      b.   To unzip the MCADAM1.ZIP file from the hard disk to the MCD.ZIP
  55.           file (and some other files) on the floppy disk, type 'DISK1
  56.           <DRIVE:>', where <DRIVE:> is your floppy disk drive.  For example,
  57.           if your floppy disk drive is A, then type 'DISK1 A:' (no quotes!)
  58.  
  59.      c.   After the files have been copied, label this disk as "MICRO CADAM
  60.           INSTALL DISK 1 OF 4".
  61.  
  62.      d.   You may now erase the MCADAM1.ZIP file from the hard disk.
  63.  
  64.  
  65. 4.   UNZIP THE MCADAM2.ZIP FILE FROM THE HARD DISK, TO A FLOPPY DISK:
  66.  
  67.      a.   Place another empty, formatted high density disk into your floppy
  68.           drive.
  69.  
  70.      b.   To unzip the MCADAM2.ZIP file from the hard disk to the MCD.ZIP
  71.           file on the floppy disk, type 'DISK2 <DRIVE:>', where <DRIVE:> is
  72.           your floppy disk drive.  For example, if your floppy disk drive is
  73.           A, then type 'DISK2 A:' (no quotes!)
  74.  
  75.      c.   After the files have been copied, label this disk as "MICRO CADAM
  76.           INSTALL DISK 2 OF 4".
  77.  
  78.      d.   You may now erase the MCADAM2.ZIP file from the hard disk.
  79.  
  80. 5.   UNZIP THE MCADAM3.ZIP FILE FROM THE HARD DISK, TO A FLOPPY DISK:
  81.  
  82.      a.   Place another empty, formatted high density disk into your floppy
  83.           drive.
  84.  
  85.      b.   To unzip the MCADAM3.ZIP file from the hard disk to the MCD.ZIP
  86.           file on the floppy disk, type 'DISK3 <DRIVE:>', where <DRIVE:> is
  87.           your floppy disk drive.  For example, if your floppy disk drive is
  88.           A, then type 'DISK3 A:' (no quotes!)
  89.  
  90.      c.   After the files have been copied, label this disk as "MICRO CADAM
  91.           INSTALL DISK 3 OF 4".
  92.  
  93.      d.   You may now erase the MCADAM3.ZIP file from the hard disk.
  94.  
  95. 6.   UNZIP THE MCADAM4.ZIP FILE FROM THE HARD DISK, TO A FLOPPY DISK:
  96.  
  97.      a.   Place another empty, formatted high density disk into your floppy
  98.           drive.
  99.  
  100.      b.   To unzip the MCADAM4.ZIP file from the hard disk to the MCD.ZIP
  101.           file on the floppy disk, type 'DISK4 <DRIVE:>', where <DRIVE:> is
  102.           your floppy disk drive.  For example, if your floppy disk drive is
  103.           A, then type 'DISK4 A:' (no quotes!)
  104.  
  105.      c.   After the files have been copied, label this disk as "MICRO CADAM
  106.           INSTALL DISK 4 OF 4".
  107.  
  108.      d.   You may now erase the MCADAM4.ZIP file from the hard disk.

  111. The second stage of the installation of Micro CADAM involves installing the
  112. program FROM the floppy disks, BACK ONTO the hard disk.  Read the file
  113. INSTALL.TXT on Disk 1 of 4 and follow the instructions there.
  114.  
  115. NOTE:  Before installing the software FROM the floppy disks TO the hard disk,
  116. it is best to remove the volume label from all 4 of the floppy disks. 
  117. Should the disks have an incorrect volume label, the pkunzip utility may not
  118. recognize the disks in the correct order, and will then keep prompting you
  119. for a disk when it is already inserted in the drive.  Remember to insert the
  120. disks in the proper order.  When asked to insert the disk with the batch
  121. file, this means disk 1.  When asked to insert the last disk of the backup
  122. set, this means disk 4.
  123.  
  124. After you have installed the Micro CADAM software FROM your floppy disk TO
  125. your hard disk, all of the Micro CADAM files will be found in the \MCADAM
  126. directory.  Look in the \MCADAM\DOCS directory for more information on
  127. concepts, quickstart, etc.  Some of these files are in Wordperfect 5.1 format
  128. (complete with graphics) so you can print them out.  One of the files is text
