  6. more than three decades Barber served up a steady stream of
  7. play-by-play palaver for the Cincinnati Reds, the Brooklyn
  8. Dodgers and the New York Yankees. His down-home eloquence
  9. painted pictures for his listeners in the days before
  10. television, and in recent years found him new fans with his
  11. Friday-morning commentary and reminiscences on National Public
  12. Radio.
