  7.     Only three weeks after Andrew struck Florida, another
  8. hurricane steamrollered on Friday across the Hawaiian island of
  9. Kauai. With gusts of up to 160 m.p.h., Iniki was the most
  10. powerful storm to hit Hawaii this century, but its course took
  11. it over the lightly populated western side of the island. There
  12. were no first reports of serious casualties, and this time the
  13. Federal Emergency Management Agency could not be accused of a
  14. slow reaction. It dispatched teams to the area even before Iniki
  15. struck.

  20.     The House post office was every Congressman's convenience
  21. store. Now the woman behind the counter, chief of staff Joanna
  22. O'Rourke, 52, has been indicted by a federal grand jury and
  23. charged with conspiring to use the mail service for "personal
  24. and campaign services." The indictment said O'Rourke, who plans
  25. to plead guilty to misdemeanor charges, had ordered employees
  26. to pick up and deliver campaign contributions and backdate
  27. postmarks on federal income-tax returns.
