  13. #$$ Starting the tutorial
  14.  
  15. To ensure that complete sets of instructions are visible without
  16. needing to scroll the color editing panel I have had to cram things in
  17. a bit.  Sorry.
  18.  
  19. Please scroll down until the line "*─ Important: ──" is at the top.

  21. #$$   Coloring a message panel

  23.  To color this panel:      │ Be sure to back up your data regularly, │

  58. You can now see the result of your labours as it would appear in your
  59. application's help screen by tapping <F1> and then using <PgDn> or
  60. <PgUp> to move from page to page.

  62. Note that you can tap <F1> to check final appearances at any time while
  63. you are working on your help file.

  66. By now you're probably getting the hang of it.

  68. You will have noticed that the actions performed by the function keys
  69. you have been pressing are listed at the bottom of the screen.  Please
  70. refer to the CLIPHELP.DOC file for a full explanation of their use.

  72. #$$ Finally, a few tips
  73.  
  74.  1  When you work on your help file for real, don't forget to use the
  75.     'Rewrite Text' option after each occasion of using the 'Edit
  76.     Colors' option to incorporate the results of your color editing in
  77.     your HELP.TXT file prior to next using your ASCII processor.

  79.  2  Have a look at TUTORIAL.TXT file as included in the original suite
  80.     of files to see how simple it is to lay out a basic HELP.TXT file.
  81.     Note in particular the way topic titles are indicated.

  83.  3  If you wish to indent topic titles as has been done in this
  84.     tutorial use a few CHR(255)s - spaces will be ignored.
