  5. Use of this pre-release version of WinZip for Windows/NT beyond the
  6. 21-evaluation day period is prohibited unless you have purchased a

  13. You should carefully read the following terms and conditions
  14. before using this software.

  16. Shareware Version

  18. You are hereby licensed to:  use the Shareware Version of the
  19. software for a 21 day evaluation period; make as many copies of
  20. the Shareware version of this software and documentation as you
  21. wish; give exact copies of the original Shareware version to
  22. anyone; and distribute the Shareware version of the software and
  23. documentation in its unmodified form via electronic means.  There
  24. is no charge for any of the above.

  26. You are specifically prohibited from charging, or requesting
  27. donations, for any such copies, however made; and from
  28. distributing the software and/or documentation with other products
  29. (commercial or otherwise) without prior written permission, with
  30. one exception:  Disk Vendors approved by the Association of
  31. Shareware Professionals are permitted to redistribute WinZip,
  32. subject to the conditions in this license, without specific
  33. written permission.

  35. Unregistered use of WinZip after the 21-day evaluation period is
  36. in violation of federal copyright laws.

  38. Evaluation and Registration

  40. This is not free software.  This license allows you to use this
  41. software for evaluation purposes without charge for a period of 21
  42. days.  If you use this software after the 21 day evaluation period
  43. a registration fee of $29 is required.  Payments must be in US
  44. dollars drawn on a US bank, and should be sent to Nico Mak, P.O.
  45. Box 919, Bristol, CT 06011- 0919.  Credit card ordering and
  46. quantity discounts are available, as described in the section
  47. Ordering Information/Order Form.  When payment is received you
  48. will be sent a registered copy of the latest version of WinZip.

  50. One registered copy of WinZip may either be used by a single
  51. person who uses the software personally on one or more computers,
  52. or installed on a single workstation used nonsimultaneously by
  53. multiple people, but not both.

  55. You may access the registered version of WinZip through a network,
  56. provided that you have obtained individual licenses for the
  57. software covering all workstations that will access the software
  58. through the network.

  60. Governing Law

  62. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of
  63. Connecticut.

  65. Disclaimer of Warranty

  67. THIS SOFTWARE AND THE ACCOMPANYING FILES ARE SOLD "AS IS" AND
  68. WITHOUT WARRANTIES AS TO PERFORMANCE OF MERCHANTABILITY OR ANY
  69. OTHER WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  In particular,
  70. there is no warranty for the optional virus scanning feature
  71. (WinZip does not scan for viruses, it simply runs external
  72. programs that claim to perform this function).  Because of the
  73. various hardware and software environments into which WinZip may
  74. be put, NO WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS
  75. OFFERED.

  77. Good data processing procedure dictates that any program be
  78. thoroughly tested with non-critical data before relying on it.
  79. The user must assume the entire risk of using the program.  ANY
  80. LIABILITY OF THE SELLER WILL BE LIMITED EXCLUSIVELY TO PRODUCT
  81. REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF PURCHASE PRICE.
