Apteryx Lisp 1.x Licence information 13 Jan 1994
------------------------------------
Apteryx Lisp is a Lisp system for Microsoft Windows 3.x produced by
Apteryx Lisp Ltd, a private company registered in New Zealand.
Note: Apteryx Lisp "1.x" refers to any version of Apteryx Lisp whose
version number starts with "1.". A licence to use Apteryx Lisp 1.x
automatically confers on the holder the right to use updates of
Apteryx Lisp whose version number starts with "1.". Users must acquire
such updates at their own expense, generally from wherever they
acquired their original version. Currently new versions of Apteryx Lisp
are uploaded to the Compuserve IBMPRO forum, but this distribution
policy may change in the future. If at some future date Apteryx Lisp Ltd
directly distributes updated versions to registered users, it may charge
for the cost of such distribution.
Later non-1.x versions of Apteryx Lisp may have a higher registration
fee, or may not be sold as shareware at all. In all cases, registered
uses of 1.x will be guaranteed a discount on the price of such new
versions equal to the licence fee that they have already paid.
For example - A user downloads version 1.0 of Apteryx Lisp and tries it out.
The user likes the program and registers as a user of Apteryx Lisp 1.x on
one computer for NZ$40. They download a later release version 1.74. Their
current licence entitles them to use that version.
Hypothetically, suppose version 2.5 is released as mail order software
selling for NZ$90. Then the user would be able to purchase Version 2.5
for $90 - $40 = NZ$50.
