\ README F83-88 convertions by Mike Nemeth see note
The files in this archive must be renamed to .SEQ after you
have preserved your original FF files. Then run FMETA.BAT to
obtain a new fkernel.com and follow this by running EXTEND.BAT to
make your new FF.EXE which incorporates the changes I have made
to the screen writing routines.
FF.EXE should come up in color on the cga card, and will still
function normally on the monochrome monitor. To see the example
of a pop-up screen, type HELP or VIEW at the forth prompt. Use
VIEW WORDNAME to see how screen writing in color is improved.
It should be quite easy to modify this code for any other
machines that run DOS 3.xx, or any other forth having an
assembler; if you have any difficulty or any suggestions, contact
Mike Sperl c/o NCFB or drop me a note.
Thanks to Tom Zimmer for making his monumental achievement
available to the forth community. The underlying ideas for this
enhancement came from my study of his code.
