  7. This CD ROM is designed to run on Archimedes and RISC PC computers which
  8. have at least 4 megabytes of memory and a CD ROM drive. For instructions on 
  9. how to install and run this program, please consult the booklet provided with
  10. this disc. A5000 users and those with little available memory may find the 
  11. following measures are of help:
  12.  
  13.   * Quit all other applications
  14.   * Experienced users can rmkill/unplug unused modules
  15.   * Reduce the fontcache, system sprite and RAMFS areas to their minimum
  16.     sizes
  17.  
  18. If in any doubts please contact the technical helpline at the number listed 
  19. in the booklet.

  22. Users are allowed to extract graphics from this disc to use in
  23. their own work so long as it is not sold for gain or used outside the     
  24. purchasing school. The video clips and sound samples must NOT be extracted 
  25. from this CD ROM or run from any other medium unless you have the necessary 
  26. site licence. Full details of copyright are given on the printed booklet 
  27. supplied with the disc.

  32. The 'ACTSHTS' directory on the floppy disk contains a number of activity 
  33. sheets which can be used in conjunction with the Survival Mysteries of Nature
  34. CD ROM. Please consult the booklet for instructions.

  37. ON-LINE SUPPORT
  38.  
  39. Anglia Multimedia's On-Line services provide all disc users with extra 
  40. learning materials linked to its discs. This is available on the World Wide 
  41. Web at http://www.anglia.co.uk. A more comprehensive learning service is
  42. provided by Education Anglia, to be found on AOL UK (America On-Line). Log
  43. on to your AOL site and use the keyword facility and the word ANGLIA for
  44. quick access. There is also a Survival site on AOL; keyword SURVIVAL.

  47. SAVE STATUS MULTIUSER/MULTIPLATFORM APPLICATIONS
  48.  
  49. For details of the use of the save status and resume feature, please
  50. consult the booklet provided with this disc. 
  51.  
  52. By default the program saves a file named RESUME.KAS within the Extras
  53. folder. (Assuming that the Extras folder is called '!Mystery+', the
  54. file resides at '!Mystery+.Scripts.Status0.Resume'). This file is
  55. automatically reloaded if the user chooses to 'Resume from Previous
  56. Session' when re-running the disc.
  57.  
  58. The Resume file and other status files located within the 
  59. '!Mystery+.Scripts.Status' directory are listed in the 'Load Status' menu. 
  60. Status files from elsewhere are loaded by dragging them onto the program's 
  61. main window.
  62.  
  63. When used in a classroom environment, it may be preferable to instruct
  64. each user to save their own individually named status file before leaving 
  65. the disc. By saving an individual status file each user can return to 
  66. their previous session by explicitly loading their status file. Status 
  67. files may be saved within the default directory on the system hard disc
  68. or to a floppy disk. 
  69.  
  70. Status files are cross-platform. If you also have the Windows MPC version
  71. of this disc you can interchange status files between computers as follows:
  72.  
  73. MPC to Acorn:
  74.  
  75. 1. Run this CD ROM on your MPC.
  76.  
  77. 2. Save your current status to an MSDOS format floppy disc.
  78.    
  79. 3. Remove the .KAS extension from the status file or save it as an Acorn
  80.    status file (selected from the 'Save file as Type: menu'). 
  81.    
  82. 4. Run the Acorn version of the CD ROM on an Acorn RISCOS computer. 
  83.    Drag the status file from the MSDOS floppy disc onto the program's 
  84.    main window.
  85.    
  86. 5. The Acorn disc should return to the same place and with the same 
  87.    status as the MPC version you were running.

  89. Acorn to MPC:
  90.  
  91. 1. Run the Acorn version of the CD ROM on an Acorn RISCOS computer. 
  92.  
  93. 2. Save your status to an MSDOS format floppy disc.
  94.  
  95. 3. Run this CDROM on your MPC.

  97. 4. Load the status file from the DOS format floppy disc (select 
  98.    'Acorn Status File in the 'List files of Type:' Menu).

  100. 5. The MPC should return to the same place with the same status 
  101.    as the Acorn version you were running.
