The mini-tower chassis is made of sturdy steel or plastic to protect the internal components from damage. These components are usually mounted vertically into the chassis frame. In most systems, the removal of retention screws on the back panel allows the front and top panels to be slid off. Removing these panels allows direct access to the system's interior. In some models, the chassis is hinged at the back so that the panels may be swung open.
