A mousepad is a rectangular pad of plastic or rubber, usually about eight by ten inches. The |tracking ball| of the mouse or |mousepen| rolls across the pad, which cushions the ball as well as providing better traction. This gives the mouse a smoother, more even roll, letting it track better.
