The video circuitry accepts information from the video controller to generate the ~RGB~ signals going to the |monitor|. A digital-to-analog converter (or DAC), converts the numeric information from the video memory into an intensity used to control the |electron guns| in the monitor. The video circuitry will also generate the horizontal and vertical syncing used by the monitor for screen refreshes.
