The yoke is a set of electromagnets between the focusing electrodes and the ion screen. As the focused electron streams are passed through the yoke, they are deflected to scan horizontally across the screen. This process begins at the top line and progresses down. This deflection is synchronized with the |electron gun| so that the appropriate |pixels| in a scan line will be illuminated.
